Those of you who have been reading my blog for a while know that one of my hot button issues is ridiculous wine laws that make it difficult for the consumer to purchase wines freely. A lot of the time these issues have been related to the ability to purchase wines and have them shipped to your home, but this week Sean Sullivan from the Washington Wine Report posted about some protectionist laws in British Columbia that pretty much double the price of wines from outside BC, and make it difficult for BC wines to appear in locations outside of the area.
If the thought of Bordeaux not being able to produce its quality wines due to climate change isn’t ugly, I don’t know what is. I have read about this in the past, but this week Dr. Vino posted a link to an article that details the predicted challenges that could make Bordeaux Cab and Merlot a thing of the past by as early as 2050. Yikes!
