Okay, so last week was so ridiculously busy that Friday came and went without my usual installment of The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. I was traveling pretty much non-stop from Wednesday on last week, and I just ran out of time to get it done. If I had produced my usual post, there is one item from last week that didn’t even require any thought about whether or not to include it.

While I was traveling the all over Washington (seriously, I was in Yakima, Walla Walla, and Seattle last week, which pretty much means I hit a significant portion of the state), I got a Direct Message on Twitter from Paul Mabray of VinTank, asking me what my thoughts were on their Craig Wolf video. I hadn’t been in front of a computer in a couple of days, so I hadn’t seen the video yet, but after reading this post, I knew I was going to love it. Once I got back to my desktop, I was treated to the most amazing response to the HR5034 issue that I have come across to date. I laughed, I cried…, okay, so I only laughed, but this video is one of the finest examples of a using humor to make a point that I have seen recently. Paul is not only spot on in his analysis of the issue, the VinTank team produced a video that presented the message in a humorous format.

After watching the video, I knew that I was going to include it in TGTBTU, but I wanted to do something else to honor this comedic masterpiece. I thought and thought about what I could do, before finally arriving at the most fitting honor that I could bestow on the VinTank team. They need a badge for this effort, and I’m going to give it to them.

For those who don’t know why this is such a fitting honor, VinTank was instrumental in several bloggers beginning to issue badges in their wine reviews. I won’t go into detail in this post, but you can read all about it here.

So, without further ado, I am awarding the VinTank crew with my very first badge – The Badass Winos badge. I really can’t think of anything more appropriate to say after watching Paul pull out his mad kung-fu on the 3 Tier Mafia than, “Effing badass!”
