This baseball season saw the advent of a new league that brought together two of my favorite things, wine and baseball. A great group of winos from around the country came together to participate in the Major Wino Fantasy Baseball League. The first order of business here today is some gloating on my part. As of the start of today's games, I am enjoying a pretty sizable lead in the league. I was fortunate enough to pick up a couple of studs that didn't cost me very much (players were selected in an auction format), such as Ubaldo Jimenez and Robinson Cano. Those of you who have played in a Rotisserie scoring league know that things can change very quickly, so I'm certainly not counting my chickens before they hatch. Right now my boy Steve Paulo has been charging up the standings, and is looking pretty strong in 2nd. Here are the current standings.
Okay, so enough gloating about my baseball supremacy. The real purpose of this post is to start the recruiting drive officially for the upcoming Major Wino Fantasy Football League. I have already talked with a few people on Twitter who expressed an interest in joining in the fun for the football season, but I wanted to throw the invitation out there to the general public. If you are interested in joining in with some other winos for a great time playing some fantasy football, please email me for details. The goal is to assemble a 12 team league, so space is definitely limited.
