There is a cool post on Dr. Vino's blog right now with a letter from a soldier serving over in Iraq. The soldier is a wine lover who really has a unique perspective on the importance of context with wine, or anything else for that matter. There are certain situations that really vividly demonstrate what is important and what isn't. In the grand scheme of things, adding one more bottle of wine to the cellar is not really the most important thing on earth. On the other hand, some experiences also make you more deeply appreciate the little things, like a good glass of wine.
I would like to thank Bob and our other soldiers for their service, and I would be happy to send him a bottle of Texas wine to celebrate his safe return when he gets back.
