Around this time of year, everyone is talking about what they are thankful for.  It is really easy to just breeze past this and not really think about what you are genuinely thankful for.  I was thinking about it, and this year I really do have a lot of things to be thankful for.

On the top of my list is my wife.  A while back she had to have some surgery done, and even when it is a kind of surgery that is pretty common, you still have to be thankful when everything goes well.  We were so blessed with the results of the surgery.  She is healthy and recovering great.  For all of this, I am thankful.

Given the state of the economy around the country (ok, around the world), anyone who has a job should be thankful.  I have a great job, working for great people.  For this I am thankful.

For all of my wonderful family and friends, I am thankful.

Living in America, I have so many blessings.  I have more "stuff" than I need (a mixed blessing), but more importantly, I have a roof over my head and food on the table.  We have an entire holiday that is spent by most of us eating and watching football games on television.  This is the kind of luxury that most people in the world don't have.  We are so blessed on a daily basis, that it is difficult for most of us to truly appreciate the things that we have.  We often feel entitled to the things that we have, and complain when we don't have them.  I hope that all of you (and this is for me too) will spend the Thanksgiving holiday really thinking about how much you really do have to be thankful for.

I wish all of you a wonderful holiday with friends and family.  Enjoy some good wine (what kind will you be having?), and try not to eat TOO much.
